FIRST EDITION, 2 volumes, 4to (250 x 191mm.), half-titles, 4 folding engraved plates, 250 woodcut plates, numerous engraved head-pieces, contemporary mottled calf, minor occasional tears or spotting, spines splitting with minor loss to ends, rubbed


The large woodcut illustrations are partially printed from woodblocks made by Giogio Liberale and Wolfgang Meyerpeck. They were originally made for Mattioli's herbal and Duhamel subsequently acquired them for the use in this extensive work.
