FIRST EDITION, folio (348 x 220mm.), contemporary speckled calf, occasional spotting, joints starting, small loss to head of spine
Chishull was in Smyrna as chaplain to the Levant Company factory from 1698 to 1702 and this work is published posthumously from his diary. It contains accounts of journeys to Ionia, the Troad, Constantinople, Adrianople and Ephesus. His return to England was through Wallachia and Hungary.
