3 albums: one oblong folio (275 x 350mm.), and 2 oblong 4to (each approximately 230 x 270mm.), over 380 silver prints (various sizes, average 85 x 110mm., or the reverse), mounted on card, recto and verso, many with captions on the mounts, and some unmounted photographs, contemporary bindings, some photographs and mounts detached, minor wear to albums

A good collection of photographs compiled by a German traveller, including views of Beijing (the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, pagodas, and street scenes) and views in Taianfu, Hankow, Shanghai, Tsingtao, Chefoo, Weitou, Hong Kong, and Swatow, together with a few views of Japan.
