Oblong 4to (182 x 235mm.), engraved title, engraved coat of arms, 2 printed divisional titles, 23 engraved maps, and 101 engraved town plans and views (many after Braun and Hogenberg, view of Laugingen pasted over original leaf) errata and privilege dated 6 September 1616 at end, contemporary calf, covers with double gilt fillet borders, spine gilt in compartments with ouroboros motif, red edges, some marginal worming, view of Jena with a paper flaw in image
This rare work is notable for its attractive views of northern European towns, including Amsterdam, Bergen, Frankfurt-am-Main, Leipzig, and Vienna.
