FIRST EDITION, half-title, dedication and preface, 30 hand-coloured engraved plates, heightened with gum Arabic, each illustration with accompanying text leaf, contemporary black straight-grain morocco, minor spotting, top corner of upper cover restored, slightly scuffed

This work, with its brilliantly coloured plates, was published in six parts, commencing in 1828. Further editions followed in 1834, 1841, and 1851. The first edition is the finest and rarest.
