The panel has supportive blocks adhered to its reverse, a result of movement along a horizontal panel join, running through the centre of the picture, and also as a result of a split in the panel, running approx. 7 in. from the right-hand margin. There are retouchings visible along both of these, but there are otherwise no major damages visible. The varnish appears clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms the aforementioned restoration and reveals only a handful of other, more minor scattered retouchings, beneath a varnish that fluoresces opaque. There is some frame abrasion along the upper and lower margins. In fair overall condition.
