The canvas is lined. The paint surface is slightly dirty, and the varnish is clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals retouching along the upper left and lower margins, scattered in the background and in the stone ledge. The fish still life appears to remain largely untouched save for some retouchings in the ray. In overall fair condition and ready to hang.
