TOYEN (1902 - 1980)
UNTITLED: A DOUBLE-SIDED WORK
Stamped nine times with the estate stamp; stamped six times with the estate stamp (on the verso)
Collage on paper
13 by 8⅝ in. (33 by 21.9 cm)
Framed: 20⅜ by 15¼ in. (51.8 by 38.7 cm)
Executed circa 1970.
The work is double sided, with collage elements adhered to white-colored wove paper. The collage elements are stable. The work is hinged to a window mat along the top edge of its verso, so both sides are visible. There is undulation to some of the collage elements, inherent to the application of the adhesive. Some minor handling creases to all four corners. To the yellow collage element at the center of the verso there are two minor folds. The work is in good condition.
