Arabic manuscript on paper, 213 leaves plus 2 fly-leaves, 12 lines to the page, written in naskh in black ink with red interlinear translation in naskh, ruled in black and gold, verses separated by gold and polychrome rosettes, surah headings in red riqa against a gold ground within polychrome cartouches, gold and polychrome hisb, juz and nisf markers in the margins, marginal commentaries in naskh within clouds, f.1b and f.2a with a double-page spread of illumination consisting of a central lobed panel with gold naskh against a gold ground, f.2b and f.3a with a double page of illumination, f.3b and f.4a with gold margins, f.212b and f.213a with a finispiece bifolium consisting of a central lobed panel with gold naskh against a gold ground, in lacquer binding decorated with flowers
