Arabic manuscript on cream paper, 236 leaves plus 3 fly-leaves, 9 lines to the page, written in Maghribi in black ink, ruled in red and blue, important words written in blue or red, f.1b with a polychrome and gold heading (‘unwan), numerous gold and polychrome headings or chapter divisions throughout, illustrations of the tombs of the Caliphs (f.16b) and the minbar of the Prophet (f.17a), in dark red gilt and stamped leather binding, the doublures with gilt decoration, with flap


text panel: 6.8 by 6.2cm.

leaf: 10.4 by 11cm.

Condition Report

The margins are clean, various stains affecting the paper, especially the two illustrations, minor restorations to the paper, smudges, European numeral marking the pages on the upper left hand side, some pages loose, possibly incomplete, as viewed.
