CORNELIUS JOHNSON (ALSO KNOWN AS CORNELIS JANSSENS VAN CEULEN)
London 1593 - 1661 Utrecht
PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN, CIRCA 1630
Oil on copper, silver-gilt frame, scroll surmount
48 by 36 mm.
There is a disfiguring yellowing vanish which now detracts from the subtly of the painting. Would certainly improve with cleaning. There is probably some minor loss in the dublet area.
