The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.:
This work is well restored and is in lovely condition. It is painted on a single piece of wood, which is unreinforced on the reverse. The panel is flat, and the paint layer is stable. Under ultraviolet light, one can see a few spots to the left of the basket in the lower left corner and perhaps a few spots beneath the right arm. There are no retouches in the face, except possibly a spot or two to the right of the mouth. Although the paint layer reads slightly unevenly under ultraviolet light, there do not appear to be any other retouches. The work should be hung as is.

Young Girl with a Basket of Flowers features a young girl, possibly a flower seller, carrying a basket of meticulously painted roses. Her colorful costume and accessories stand out against the undefined background, which further demonstrates Eugen von Blaas' painterly skill. The viewer meets the girl’s intense yet trustful gaze for merely a moment, before she will return to a day’s work.
