A COMPOSITE FIGURE OF A SEATED DOG, LATE 19TH CENTURY
height 28 1/2 in.
Overall the condition of the sculpture is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The sculpture is composed of a form of composite material, probably patinated plaster. The patina is variated in tone and colour. There are probably intentional losses and areas of uneven surface around the integral base. To the reverse there is a patch across the proper left shoulder which may be a filled hollow area. There is general wear to the separate painted fictive marble wood base.
