4to (220 x 178mm.), 5 engraved folding diagrams, advertisements at the end, modern wrappers, slight browning and spotting

APPARENTLY RARE: only two copies are listed by ESTC. The present copy does not appear to have the errata slip. Folard (1669-1752) was an influential military writer who placed much reliance on the works of Polybius. He also promoted shock tactics on the battlefield.
