2 parts in one volume, 4to (241 x 167mm.), woodcut illustrations, woodcut head-and tail-pieces, engraved armorials and portraits, 15 folding engraved plates (one plate cut in half and now on 2 sheets, plates numbered 3-15, and 2 unnumbered), nineteenth-century calf gilt, the final part of 'Rerum danicarum' mistakenly bound after 'De rebus gestis' (from pp.159 onwards), some plates shaved with slight loss

This volume contains Ens's account of the life of the Danish King Frederik II (ruled 1559-1588), a keen soldier and the patron of Tycho Brahe, together with Johann Lauterbach's collection of Latin laudatory poems. The detailed plates depict battles from the Danish wars in the 1550s and 1560s, naming the commanders of each troop.
