2 parts in one volume, 8vo (146 x 95mm.), title and headings printed in red and black, woodcut initials and illustrations, contemporary calf, G7 defective at foot (not affecting text), rebacked


FIRST EDITION. Brechtel (1554-1593) was a composer, a writing master, a teacher of mathematics and a gunsmith. This work on artillery was translated into Dutch in 1594 and republished in German in 1599. The woodcuts are by Jost Amman.
