FIRST EDITION, 8vo (190 x 120mm.), 2 large folding engraved plates of pikemen by William Hogarth, one large folding diagrammatical plate, all backed with linen, modern red morocco gilt by Zaehnsdorf, gilt edges, minor repairs to p.1 touching head-piece and diagrammatical plate
Copies of this work which were "printed for the author, and are to be sold at his house", with plates by William Hogarth, appear to be rare. ESTC lists just eight copies and only one copy has appeared at auction in the last forty years.
