A collection of publicty material, 1967-1969:


i) The Beatles. 2 copies of the Souvenir programme for 1964 UK Tour, wrappers worn with creasing; ii) John Lennon. In His Own Write. Jonathan Cape, 1964. reprint, given to Herring by Starr, boards soiled and scratchingiii) The Beatles. 21 copies of original black and white publicity photos FROM THE BAND'S PENULTIMATE PHOTOSHOOT, by Bruce McBroom, 9 April 1969, from the Apple Office, some fading and browning, curving; iv) The Beatles. Songs by George Harrison & Richard Starkey. Charles Hansen Publishing [c. 1968]. printed sheet music, spine splitting, staples rusting, wrappers soiled; v) John Lennon and Yoko Ono. photocopies of press cuttings on the Montreal 'Bed-In', [1969]; vi) Apple. 4 typescript copies of record sales papers from Apple, for internal use only, 2 with envelopes addressed to Ringo, worn along folds, creasing and some tears, chipping and loss; vii) The Beatles. A Very Special Collection. colour poster by EMI, 1970. 1015 x 760mm., from the Gatehouse at Tittenhurt Park, early 1970s, with thin metal poster rails at top and bottom, creasing throughout, with colour sometimes breaking, light spotting, three pinholes (two top, one centre bottom); viii) John Lennon. postcard of Lennon with pig, 1971, originally issued and included with the Imagine Album, from the Apple Office, soft corners; ix) Apple Boutique. red pen; x) Mary Hopkin. six promotional posters for her debut album 'Post Card'


Alan Herring notes that many of these items came to him from the Apple Office in Savile Row. He also states that item vii came from the Gatehouse at Tittenhurst Park in the early 1970s. The record sales papers (item vi) were "sent in the post daily to the individual Beatles. These copies are most likely to have been sent to Ringo and left by him in the car for me to take care of."
