Condition Report

The japanning stable overall. The exterior of the cabinet with restorations and losses to japanned surface on the doors especially to raised gilded areas and sides; the japanned surface to the interior in very good condition with minor craquelure to the paint consistent with age and use. Interior drawer handles replaced. One brass corner mount on rear proper left side detached but present. The giltwood stand with some old repaired breaks to central cartouche of frieze now reinforced with thin wooden battens. Gilding in generally good condition with a few losses and rubbing, but a lovely warm color overall.
