For two similar see, Deborah, Duchess of Devonshire, Chatsworth, The House, London, 2002, pp.176-177. The Duchess writes 'On it [the piano] sits... the Meissen models of the Empress of Russia's dog, a good old mongrel on a grand china cushion'.
