A GILT-BRONZE AND WHITE MARBLE GREAT WHEEL SKELETON TIMEPIECE, FRENCH, EARLY 19TH CENTURY


2¼-inch enamel chapter ring, the skeletonised movement with fusee and chain to the great wheel, pin-wheel escapement with knife edge suspension to the sunburst pendulum, the inverted Y-shaped frame mounted on a two-tier oval base with scroll supports and toupie feet

36cm. 14in. high

Condition Report

Dial in good condition. Movement is complete and running at time of cataloguing but may benefit from a clean and fresh oil, pendulum probably replaced. Gilt mounts probably re-gilded, marble in generally good condiiton with a few minor chips. With pendulum and a winder.
