A PAIR OF MEISSEN PORCELAIN MOUNTED GILT-BRONZE AND TOLE-PEINTE THREE-LIGHT CANDELABRA, THE PORCELAIN AND MOUNTS, MID-18TH CENTURY
the groups probably modeled by Johann Joachim Kändler, one as a huntsman wearing a black tricorn, a blue-lined yellow coat trimmed in black, white breeches and black boots, standing before two brown-spotted running hounds on a mound base applied with colorful flowers and green leaves; the other as a similarly dressed huntsman blowing a gilt horn and surrounded by a seated hound and two others leaping on a similar base; one with visible crossed swords mark in underglaze blue to underside of base; each mounted on an gilt-bronze scrollwork base affixed with tôle peinte branches mounted with porcelain blossoms and terminating in three gilt-bronze foliate candle nozzles; both with crowned C marks.
