Condition Report

Losses and flaking to the gilding and probably later black-painted surface throughout. Chips and losses to carved decoration, particularly on two ionic capitals and to the applied laurel branches on one long and one short side. Marble top with usual scattered small chips, scratches, and areas of surface dirt/discolouration commensurate with age, and a larger repaired chip on one shorter side. Marble top is soldered to metal brackets attached to inner frame of table base.
