A PAIR OF GEORGE III ORMOLU MOUNTED BLUE JOHN PERFUME BURNERS LATE 18TH CENTURY, ATTRIBUTED TO MATTHEW BOULTON
on a white marble base, re-gilt

The pattern for the base of these perfume burners, which are typically made from white marble, appear in at least four designs from Boulton's metal-work Pattern Book I preserved in the Birmingham City Museum.
