A COLLECTION OF SIX SPECIMEN MARBLE PANELS, FRENCH, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
with 96 types of marble, inset on moulded wooden trays, with handwritten paper labels
each 34.5cm. high, 43cm. wide, 6cm. deep; 1ft. 1½in., 1ft. 5in., 2¾in.
In overall reasonable condition. Each specimen with residues of glue to their lower section, which probably corresponds to the previous existence of a label with the name of the stone. The inscriptions of each label have slightly faded and the paper would benefit from a professional gentle clean, according to taste. Generally with minor old marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Signs of an old woodworm activity which no longer appears to be active.
