Description

STAR WARS, SILK SCREEN BANNER, US, 1977

This silk screen banner is highly prized by Star Wars collectors, as it is such a rare and unusual item. This banner was officially distributed by the National Screen Service, and had to be purchased by cinema owners. It was expensive to order compared to the posters, and therefore not many cinemas chose to purchase them. The banner shows early illustrations of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, X-Wing Starfighters and the central Star Wars title. The banner was silk screen printed on nylon and has a gold fringe along the bottom edge, together with metal eyelets along the top.

26 x 108 in. (66.1 x 274.3) (unframed)
