1898 Trans-Mississippi 4c Vignette

150mm x108mm engraved bookplate on thick paper taken from Seth Eastman’s 1854 drawing depicting Indians hunting Buffalo. The two central characters forming the base of the design for the 4c issue. Entitled “Buffalo Hunt” and attributed to Lt. Eastman. A little toned and with a few small tears and ink spots, the vignette remains essentially clear and makes an interesting collateral item.
