printed in black with the legend SUCCESS TO AMERICA within a laurel cartouche above the coat-of-arms of the United States, between a verse from “American Freedom” by Edward Rushton, and a map of the Atlantic Coast of America within a cartouche flanked by Washington and Franklin seated an inscribing a book and dating it 1779, attended by allegorical figures emblematic of Liberty, Justice Wisdom, below a figure emblematic of Fame holding a victory laurel and a banner inscribed WASHINGTON, impressed mark to underside, chip to base
