An iconic image of the massive, 363-feet-tall Apollo 16 launch vehicle lifting off from Pad A, Launch Complex 39, at 12:54:00 p.m. on 16 April 1972. Aboard were Commander John Young, Command Module Pilot Ken Mattingly, and Lunar Module Pilot Charlie Duke.
