A LARGE JAPANESE KAKIEMON 'BIRD AND FLOWER' DISH EDO PERIOD, LATE 17TH CENTURY

柿右衛門 色絵花鳥文大皿 江戸時代、17世紀後期 


painted with a central scene of a songbird perched atop a bamboo stalk issuing from rockwork surrounded by prunus blooms, the cavetto and rim decorated with a continuous landscape with further rockwork and flowering branches, the exterior with a foliate scroll band and the base with six spur marks.
