EXCEPTIONAL GERMAN CARVED AND PAINT DECORATED PINE NOAH'S ARK AND ANIMALS, 19TH CENTURY


the ark painted red, orange and yellow; containing 139 figures including pairs of giraffes, ostriches, leopards, kangaroos, camels, deer, elephants, buffaloes, cats, dogs, birds, spiders, grasshoppers and with Noah and his wife; 140 pieces.

Height 66 in. by Length 41 ⅞ in. by Depth 9 ¾ in.

Condition Report

Very fine overall condition. There are several animals that are lacking its mate. The animals appear to be assembled from at least two separate sets. Some loss to paint on foundation of house and top edge of ark hull.
