A gold and nephrite paste pot, St Petersburg, late 19th century


carved as a tomato or pumpkin, the gold handle of the brush imitating the top leaves, struck with an unknown maker's mark I.Ö, 56 standard

height with brush 6cm, 2¼in.

Condition Report

Overall in very good condition, with only a few minor areas of surface wear, including a very shallow surface abrasion to one of the lobes approximately 7mm wide. The bristles of the stamp moistener possibly replaced.
