enamelled in translucent vivid red and set with rose-cut diamonds, with indistinct workmaster's initials, 56 standard, scratched inventory number 64914; with original Fabergé fitted case

diameter 0.8cm, ⅜in.

According to the Imperial Cabinet ledgers, Grand Duke Mikhail Alexandrovich ordered two enamelled sets of shirt studs numbered 64915 and 64916 from Fabergé, identical in description to the present lot numbered 64914, for his journey to London in 1901.
