VERA MIKHAILOVNA ERMOLAEVA
Don Quixote and Sancho Panza
gouache on paper
43 by 32cm, 17 by 12½in.
The sheet has discoloured in line with age and is very slightly rippling along the edges. There are old adhesive stains visible in the corners and to the edges on the reverse. Scattered pinholes can be seen in all four corners and in places at the edges. There is a tiny paper loss above Don Quixote's right shoulder. There is a faint diagonal crease to the top right corner. The surface is covered in a light layer of dirt and some minor incipient foxing can be seen in places. The sheet has been hinged to the mount in two places along the top edge. Held in a simple wooden frame behind glass. Unexamined out of frame.
