Original canvas. The stretcher bar is very slightly protruding in the lower left corner. There is fine craquelure throughout. A tiny fleck of paint loss is visible above the right bottom edge. There are minor frame abrasions with associated paint loss along the edges. The surface is covered in a layer of dirt with spots of dirt in places. There is some minor staining to the figure's back and right shoulder. Inspection under UV light reveals minor scattered spots of retouching to the sky, to the figure's hair as well as to the fountain and along the bottom edge. It also reveals a layer of discoloured varnish. Held in a gilt wooden frame with decorative mouldings. Unexamined out of frame.
