Philippe J. Bosch Reitz (1867–1952);

bought by his cousin Sigisbert Chrétien (Gijs) Bosch Reitz (1860-1938);

by bequest to his godson and nephew Jhr. ir. G.C. (Gijs) Six van Wimmenum (1892-1975);

thence by descent

The present marbles compare to the work of Amsterdam sculptor Ignatius van Logteren (1685-1732), see particularly his garden statues depicting various mythological figures (op. cit. p. 156-7; fig. 147).

The present sculptures are visible on a photograph of the Surinam plantation Johanna Catharina, owned by Philippe Bosch Reitz. The Surinam members of the Bosch Reitz family were regularly supported financially by the Dutch branch of their family. In 1914 Philippe had to sell the plantation. His cousin bought two of the marble sculptures, the present location of the third sculpture seen on the photograph is unknown.
