circular, the lid inset with a glazed miniature of elegant figures before a tempietto, the lid and base decorated with alternating bands of translucent-lacquered mother of pearl and finer clustered bars of opaque pale yellow lacquer, tortoiseshell lining, apparently unmarked; together with a gilt-metal mounted tortoiseshell snuff box, circular, the lid inset with a glazed miniature of figures before a cascade in a park, French, late 18th century, apparently unmarked
