the 'A Diane Arbus Photograph' stamp, signed, titled, dated, and editioned '44/75' in ink by Doon Arbus, the photographer's daughter, and with the reproduction rights stamps on the reverse, framed, 1970-71, printed posthumously by Neil Selkirk (Untitled, unpaginated)
13 by 13 in. (33 by 33 cm.)
This photograph, on double-weight Agfa paper, is in generally excellent condition. When examined closely in raking light, a soft crease is visible in the upper portion of the image. There are a few sharp creases in the lower margin that do not appear to break the emulsion. The margin is faintly darkened overall where it was covered by a mat.
There are 2 small adhesive remnants along the upper edge on the reverse.
The overall tonality of this photograph is lighter and more neutral than in the catalogue illustration.
