'N. Y. C.' (KIND BIRDS CHALK DRAWING ON SIDEWALK)
signed, titled, and dated in pencil on the reverse, 1938 (In the Street, p. 29)
8 by 5½ in. (20.3 by 14 cm.)
This rich, early print is in generally good condition. There is a sharp crease running horizontally through the lower portion of the print that appears to break the emulsion. There are several other soft and sharp creases, including 3 at the upper left corner, some of which might break the emulsion. When examined in raking light, faint silvering is visible in the darkest areas, as well as a few small impressions and a small glossy deposit in the lower left quadrant. The periphery of the print is gently worn, with occasional edge chipping and a minor loss along the center of the lower edge.
The reverse is faintly age-darkened. There are areas of inactive adhesive residue on the reverse.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this photograph does not appear to fluoresce.
