Description

STAR WARS (1977) PRINTER'S PROOF, US

Style C printer's proof

Artist: Tom William Chantrell (1916-2001)

Unframed: 104 x 69 cm (41 x 27 in.)

This was where it all began back in 1977, when George Lucas bought us the beginning of the Star Wars empire.  This piece was originally designed by Tom William Chantrell as a 30 x 40 inch landscape British poster. When George Lucas saw the design he liked it so much that he chose to use it as the style C American release poster. Printer's proofs were printed without any information on the border.
