This British black comedy was written and directed by Bruce Robinson. The story follows two unemployed substance-abusing actors who escape London life for the weekend, and stay at a cottage owned by Withnail's (Richard E. Grant) eccentric uncle, in order to restore their health. However, a different story unfolds! This was Richard E. Grant's first full-length feature role. The film also stars Paul McGann, Richard Griffiths and Ralph Brown. Withnail and I has become a cult classic.
Ralph Steadman designed a brilliant poster for this cult film. Steadman is an illustrator and best known for his political and social caricatures, cartoons and illustrated books.
