The canvas appears to be thinly lined. Underneath a dirty varnish an elegant image reads well with some of its details well preserved as seen in the pink robe the central figure wears. Meanwhile, so areas in the shadows have sunken a little. There is craquelure with a small spot of minor lifting at center left, by the top of the column. Some associated loss to the craquelure is visible at top right in the sky, and appears to have been repainted. These retouches fluoresce under UV light, but further reading is impeded due to the varnish although there is likely some further retouching addressing the craquelure here and there. Offered in giltwood frame with some minor loss to its edges.
