The former: The panel consists of what appears to be two boards with a vertical join that runs vertically from the central top edge to bottom edge and is cradled on reverse. There are three vertical cracks: the first at far left, runs from the column down to the inscription for 14 in., the second runs from the top edge down to the stone floor for about 21 in., the third is at right and runs from the face of the standing angel down to the bottom edge for 16 in. Inspection under UV: milky varnish impedes reading, though there are retouches to the cracks, and about three spots scattered on the bottom right quadrant. Offered in a giltwood frame.
The latter: The panel consists of two boards with a single join that runs vertically from the central top edge to the bottom edge and is cradled on reverse. There is some craquelure to the paint along the join, as well as at upper center, bottom left and right quadrant. Some of the craquelure has lifted, and has some tiny associated losses, such as the pindot on the blue rob of the figure at far right, and other tiny dots at bottom far left. Inspection under UV shows some strengthening to the craquelure, like an area at center in the background on the pink and blue robes of the figures. Scattered spots of retouches are also scattered along the bottom edge and right bottom quadrant. Offered in a giltwood frame.
