Property from Various Owners is available to view at the Sotheby’s Greenford Park warehouse, 13 and 16 – 18 September (10 - 4pm), by appointment.
The uncradled panel is flat and stable, the paint surface is dirty and the varnish is discoloured. Inspection under ultraviolet light would appear to reveal only a handful of spot retouchings beneath the opaque varnish, with a very small more concentrated area of retouchings in the centre of the left margin. The painting is apparently otherwise untouched and in very good condition.
The lot is sold in the condition it is in at the time of sale. The condition report is provided to assist you with assessing the condition of the lot and is for guidance only.
