Property from the SØR Rusche Collection is available to view at Sotheby’s, New Bond Street, 13 – 18 September (weekdays 9am – 4.30pm; weekend 12-5pm).
The single oak panel is uncradled, flat and stable, and it is beveled on all four edges. The paint surface is overall clean and the varnish is slightly discolored. Inspection under UV light reveals little intervention, apart from a few tiny spots of retouchings at the left and upper margins. The painting is in overall very good condition.
