The panel is uncradled but has five supportive blocks affixed to the reverse to support an old vertical split that runs the length of the panel, 5 cm. from the left margin, visible from the front under raking light. The paint surface has a slightly discoloured varnish. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals retouching along the aforementioned restored split as well as some retouchings scattered in the background - most notably in the background to the left of the man measuring approx. 3 x 1 cm.; scattered in the blue tablecloth with a more concentrated spot just to the left of the woman's knee; and small spots scattered in both figures most notably in the woman's face. In overall fair condition.
