Condition Report

Property from Various Owners is available to view at the Sotheby’s Greenford Park warehouse, 13 and 16 – 18 September (10 - 4pm), by appointment.

The canvas is lined, the paint surface is clean, and the varnish is clear and even. There are no major damages visible to the naked eye. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals only some retouchings: a few tiny spots and fine lines in the sky with a larger area just above the tree upper centre approx. 05. x 3 cm.; a handful of spots scattered along the top of the mountain range with the largest 2 x 2 cm.; a spot lower right; and few, scattered strengthenings in the darker pigments of the trees and shrubbery in the foreground, notably in the trees centre left. The composition remains otherwise largely untouched and is in overall very good condition.
