Overall the condition of the casket is very good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some rubbing to the damascene work in areas. There are also some small losses to the gilding particularly around the edges and to the hasp. There are areas of brown/ orange oxidation. There is an area of repair to one of the corners of the underside. The lid is stiff. There are possible small repairs to the interior of the lid.
