MAN AND WOMAN ON BEACH
signed
pencil, charcoal, wax crayon, watercolour, wash, chinagraph and gouache on paper
23.5 by 32.5cm.; 9¼ by 12¾in.
Executed in 1981.
The sheet is attached to the mount with tabs of adhesive tape at each corner and along the upper and lower edges at intervals. The sheet undulates slightly in places, in keeping with the Artist's working methods and materials. There is a faint crease to the upper left corner. There are a few specks of staining just below the right hand figure. There is possible light surface dirt in places and one or two possible handling marks at the extreme edges of the sheet. This excepting, the work appears in excellent overall condition.
The sheet is window mounted in a double-sided mount and held within a painted wooden frame. There is a further sketch by the same hand to the verso, which is also visible in the current double-sided frame.
