Where acquired by the present collector. 

Born in Antwerp, Hieronymus Galle traveled to Rome in 1661. This bountiful flower still life demonstrates his awareness of the mid-seventeenth century Roman still life tradition.


When last sold (see Provenance), Fred Meijer endorsed the attribution to Hieronymus Galle on the basis of photographs.
